This project work started with an extensive literacy research in an attempt to find out facts about the Computerization of the registration of Universal basic education which is the fundamental part of educational system in Nigeria. It is rightly for every Nigerian child or student. The UBE system incorporates primary school education and the recently innovation of Junior secondary school free system of education. The universal basic education system consisted of ensuring that every Nigerian child go to school with reference to basic primary education thereby reducing the incidence of child school dropout between the age of 3 years to 12 years. It is to later, for those who for some reasons, dropout of school through complimentary approaches and ensure acquisition of appropriate levels of literacy, numeracy, communicative and life skills. The aim of this project work is to computerize the registration project work is to computerize the registration systems of schools for universal basic education with ease study of Delta State Education Board.
ORGANISATION WORK
The description of the contents of each chapters is briefly stated.
This project work is divided into seven chapters, carefully planning is done to ensure that each subsequent chapter seamlessly ushers in the next in a way that will make it easier for the reader to understand.
Chapter one focuses, on introduction, under this introduction t he following topics are involved. They are background of the study, statement of the problem, purpose of the study, objectives of the study, limitations of the study and definition of terms.
Chapter two entitled with review of literature. It is education especially towards, registration of pupil in primary schools reference to U.B.E.
Chapter three discussed about description and analyses of the existing system which consists of input, process, out analyses, method of Data collection, organisation chart, objectives of the existing system, problems of the existing system, and justification for the new system.
Chapter four is design of the new system. It is about input and output specification, file design, procedure chart, system flow chart and system requirement.
Chapter five, comprises of implementation, program design, program flow chart, program codes, test runs.
Chapter six, discussed about documentation of the new system.
Chapter seven is all about recommendation and conclusion with the references.
In all, I sought to create a project work that will explain the many difficult concepts in a simplified manner. The project will explain and serve as a reference guide once you have mastered the topic.
The condition of this project arranging gradually and progressively leads the reader through the simple to the advanced in a manner that makes the reading and understanding of each topic easier and less tedious in knowing the useful of computer system for registration of pupils in primary education with the help of U.B.E “Universal Basic Education.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
The project work deals on computerization of registration system in schools for Universal Basic Education (UBE) System, the objective of the UBE program which was founded in 1999, 30 September by President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sokoto is to offer free education (basic Education) for every Nigerian child of school-going age and reducing the incidence of school dropout. It is to later for those who for some reasons, dropout of school through complimentary approaches and ensure the acquisition of appropriate levels of literacy. The main target of the UBDE Programme is the primary education, which is very relevant for a good education background of a scholar. The primary education system has a uniform procedure for registration and admission of pupils as enumerated by the UBE which is the aim of this work to look into the manual method of admission and registration to observe to attendant problems which will serve as bases for computerization of the registration system.
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The background of the study is the UBE system which was formed in September 30 1999 by President Olusegun Obasanjo in Sokoto State and is aimed at offering free basic education for every Nigerian child of school-going age and developing in the entire citizenry a strong consciousness for education and a strong commitment to its vigorous promotion and also reducing drastically the incidence of dropout from the formal school system (through improved relevance quality and efficiency it is a programme funded by the Federal Government.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The major function of the UBE programme is to offer free education to every Nigeria child in primary school but there are problems encountered during pupil’s admission in schools which is the aim of this work to design and implement a computerized registration system for Universal Basic Education (primary school) using the Enugu State Education Board as case study.
1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
There are setbacks in registration of pupils owing to the manual method of admission used by schools, thus the researcher felt the need to identify and provides a solution to these setbacks as the objectives of this work include.
(1) To ease the stress and reduce the time of information processing during admission and registration of pupil for easy access to a pupil’s file when needed,
To ensure that adequate and error-free records are kept about pupils.
To ensure that pupils information are processed just in time to effect any decision making in process.
1.4 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of this work is that when the system becomes operational it will,
- Permit online – timely data storage and information retrieval.
- Increase the operational efficiency and accuracy of the school management.
- Reduce record and file redundancy or duplication able inherent in the manual system.
- Generate consistent, accurate, timely and reliable reports of information for effective admission control towards proper management of the school.
- To ensure that pupils personal problems are observed through interviews and reference to personal files.
1.5 THE SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The study is limited to the primary education system of the UBE program and the junior secondary (JS1-3). It includes the registration and the admission of students and record keeping and access of the school to develop a good information necessary to run the basic education system.
- Generate consistent, accurate, timely and reliable reports of information for effective admission control towards proper management of the school.
- To ensure that pupils personal problems are observed through interviews and reference to personal files.
